T minus 8 days

Well, we are T- 8 days, 4 hours and about 15 minutes before my United Airways flight leaves the bustling Atlanta airport bound for Chicago. From there I'll make the switch to British Airways and take a plane to London Heathrow Airport before a 2 hour bus ride brings my outbound journey to a close. I'm feeling pretty excited and just a little sad about my time away, but I know the next week is going to be busy with last minute preparations for leaving. Amanda is also coming down for New Years and following, which should serve to cheer me up :).
It was really nice to spend Christmas at home and see everyone here before I leave. I spent yestereday running errands with mom, and yesterday evening I went to the wedding of a guy I went to high school with, so I got to see a lot of old friends and teachers there.
In the next few days, I plan to start getting everything I want to take with me in piles to start packing. I hope it will all fit!
